Publication
Selected papers from the MORIS 2007 workshop will be published in March 2008 as a special issue of Journal of the Magnetics Society of Japan (JMSJ). We strongly recommend that the authors who will present at MORIS 2007 workshop submit their papers to the journal. All manuscripts should be submitted via the MSJ (Magnetic Society of Japan) online submission system. Please read carefully the procedure which is described in the following Note to authors, Guideline for Preparation of Manuscripts, and Submission of the manuscript before submitting your manuscript.

Deadline for submission of the manuscript: September 7, 2007


Type of papers
All papers are categorized into three types of papers, Invited Review Papers, Invited Original Papers, and Contributed Papers as described below.

Invited Review Papers
Invited Review Papers are based on invited review talks at the workshop in which remarkable advances have been made. Intelligible introductions, explanations, and descriptions with references to recent publications on the topics should be included.

Invited Original Papers
Invited Original Papers are based on invited talks at the workshop. They must contain original research results with significant conclusions or experimental results. Sufficient information must be included to allow reproduction of the experiment or analysis.

Contributed Papers
Contributed Papers must contain original research results with significant conclusions or experimental results. Sufficient information must be included to allow reproduction of the experiment or analysis.

Preparation of Manuscripts
Authors should prepare their manuscripts in English, in accordance with "Guideline for Preparation of Manuscripts".

Prohibition of Duplicate Contributions
It is forbidden to submit a manuscript to JMSJ, which has already been published in or submitted to another journal, except for the case of Invited Review Papers. It is also forbidden to submit to another journal a manuscript identical or very similar in content to one submitted to JMSJ.

Copyright Transfer
The copyright for all articles published in JMSJ will be owned by the Magnetic Society of Japan.
Upon transferring the copyright to the Magnetic Society of Japan, authors or the organizations to which the authors belong have the following right without any permission.
  • All rights, including industrial property, except for the copyright relating to the article in JMSJ.
  • The right to print for personal use the article published in JMSJ, subject to the following conditions:
    1. It should be clearly mentioned that the source of the quoted article is JMSJ.
    2. It should be clearly mentioned that the copyright of the quoted article belongs to the Magnetic Society of Japan.
    3. The reprints must not be for sale. The Magnetic Society of Japan will not bear any responsibility for reprinted articles.
  • The right to distribute all or part of an article to a limited number of people before it is published in JMSJ.


Authors should prepare their manuscripts for review in accordance with the following guideline.
Lengths of manuscripts
The maximum paper length is six journal pages for invited papers and four journal pages for contributed papers. Information on the required formats of manuscripts and characters is given in "An English Camera-Ready Format for Submission to the Magnetics Society of Japan" (Word, PDF).

Title
The title of the manuscript should properly and clearly express the contents in English. The length of the title should not be unnecessary long.

Authors' names and affiliations
The authors' names, affiliations, and their addresses should be given only in English. If the authors are not affiliated to the same organization, " * ", " ** ", etc. are used after the authors' names and before the corresponding affiliations.

Abstract
All manuscripts must include an abstract in English. The abstract must be a single paragraph containing no more than 200 words for Invited and Contributed Papers.

Key words
All manuscripts should include a list of key words in English. Key words should appear after the abstract under the heading "Key words:" and should be separated by commas. Five to ten Key words conveying the content of the manuscript should be selected from the body of the manuscript. Key words should be entirely in lowercase characters except when they are typically written in uppercase characters or in abbreviated forms. Key words should include only adjectives and nouns, and should not include articles, prepositions, or conjunctions.

Body of manuscript
Body of the manuscript should be prepared in accordance with the following items:
  1. Variables and mathematical expressions appearing in the body of the manuscript must be in italic characters, and must be properly spaced and clearly legible.
  2. Product names or numbers may not be used.
  3. Words in compound or abbreviated forms are allowed only when these forms are in common usage.
  4. Names of materials should be expressed precisely.
  5. The international system units (SI) are recommended for use in the manuscripts. However, the usage of other units including cgs is allowed in the manuscripts. For understanding the system of units including SI, the article, "Recommended units", should be referred.
  6. Units should not be written by using italic characters. The space should be inserted between the numerical and the unit.


Appendix and acknowledgement
Appendix should be laid after the main body and the acknowledgement should be before the references.

References
Reference number in the body of the manuscript should be written as superscripts, such as 1) or 3)-5). Appropriately numbered references should appear at the end of the manuscript after the title of "References". The abbreviated names for the journals should be used with the reference to the "Journal Title Abbreviations".

Dates of receipt, revised and acceptance of a manuscript
The dates on which a manuscript and the revised one (in case of major corrections) were received, and the date on which the manuscript was accepted, should be given as shown in "An English Camera-Ready Format for Submission of Manuscripts to the Magnetics Society of Japan" (Word, PDF). The Editorial Committee will inform the authors of these dates.

Figures, Tables, and Photographs
Figures and photographs must be numbered as Fig. 1, Fig. 2, and so on. Similarly, tables must be numbered as Table 1, Table 2, and so on. Use uppercase characters only for the first character of the first words in a group, except in all-caps abbreviations (e.g., LCD) or other cases where such usage is standard (e.g., van Alphen). The captions and legends of tables should appear above the tables and those of figures and photographs should appear below.

Review stage
Authors are requested to prepare their manuscripts for review in Portable Document File (pdf) format. Please follow the writing style in "An English Camera-Ready Format for Submission of Manuscripts to the Magnetics Society of Japan" (Word, PDF).

The paper must be submitted via the MSJ (Magnetic Society of Japan) web submission system. To submit your manuscript, please click "Submit New Manuscript".

There are 6 steps to complete the submission. At the 1st step, you will be asked to select manuscript type and research field of the manuscript, and you may select as:
Manuscript Type: MORIS Invited Review / MORIS Invited Original Paper / MORIS Contributed Paper
Research Field First: 9. MORIS Paper
Research Field Second: [Not Selected] or 9. MORIS Paper

At the end of each step you must click "Next". After the step 6 you should confirm your data and pdf file to be submitted, and click "Submit" to complete the submission. (It is not necessary to submit covering letter for MORIS paper.) Then you will see a temporary receipt number and receive an e-mail confirmation.

The Magnetics Society of Japan will receive your files for review, and will send you a receipt e-mail to provide your manuscript number. The temporary receipt number or the manuscript number is required to login from "Author Menu" to check the status of your manuscript.

After the first reviewing, the authors may be required to revise your manuscript according to referee's comments. The revised manuscript will be submitted from "Author Menu". The authors should prepare a response sheet (pdf file) including the referee's comments, and should upload the sheet to submit the revised manuscript.

English rewrite
If authors request English rewrite or are requested to rewrite English by reviewers, the MSJ provides English rewrite for your manuscript. The manuscript for English rewrite should be prepared in 12-point font, double space, and single column format, and should be submitted from "New submission" or "Author Menu". The fee for the rewrite will be 3,000 yen per page and charged from the MSJ office.

Final submission stage
After your paper is accepted, you will be asked to prepare final camera-ready manuscript, Copyright Transfer Form, and Reprint Order Form. The final manuscript should be prepared according to "An English Camera-Ready Format for Submission of Manuscripts to the Magnetics Society of Japan" (Word, PDF), and the dates of receipt, revised (in case of major corrections), and acceptance should be added after the Reference section. The dates will be provided by the MSJ Editorial office and will appear in the acceptance e-mail. If the author requires reprint papers and/or color page printing, please fill Reprint Order Form and/or Color Page Charge Form, respectively. (If not, it is not necessary to submit these forms.) The fee for 100 reprints with and without cover page will be 25,000 yen and 20,000 yen, respectively. For color page printing, extra page charge of 50,000 yen/page will be levied. More detail information will be in Reprint Order Form and Color Page Charge Form.
The final manuscript must be sent BOTH by regular mail and by uploading from "Author Menu".
